  Volt is looking for Programmer Editors to handle a range of assignments such as editing Developer documentation, white papers, articles, samples, and related technical publications. They will need to work well with Editors and other Writers as well as Program Managers, Account Managers, support and localization teams, and other groups. These Editors should be able to work efficiently and steadily without continuous supervision.

  This is an estimated 1 year contract (possible extension) through Volt Technical & Creative Communication - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, which is headquartered in Bothell, Washington. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top rated IT companies in the Pacific Northwest.

  Required Skills for these Programmer Editors includes the following:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong content organization and developmental editing ability
  • Excellent copyediting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain consistency of terminology and usage across multiple projects
  • Facility editing content in Word, HTML, and XML formats
  • Strong familiarity with the Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications (MSTP)
  • Basic understanding of C/C++

  The following skills are preferred:

  • SDK (Software Development Kit) editing experience
  • Some experience with HTML/XML document conversion and production
  • Ability to work efficiently and steadily without supervision
  • Familiarity with types of content in SDK or Developer documentation
  • Some experience with games and game development
