  This entrepreneurial role is a Senior Product Manager position on the Commercial Video Services team at Real Networks focused on the exciting new technology for delivery of online and offline video.

  The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for all essential elements of a product life-cycle, i.e.:

  • Identifying market trends and customer needs and developing business cases for new product development and current product enhancement.
    
  • Conducting competitive assessment to identify product gaps and opportunities.
    
  • Working closely with the development team to deliver products on time and with agreed functionality.
    
  • Developing go to market plans that will meet business plan targets.
    
  • Providing marketing support for key customer implementations.
    
  • Insuring alignment with strategic and operational business objectives and metrics.
    
  • Managing end-of-life for product, as appropriate.
    
  • Identify and evaluate current and future market trends and customer needs.

  • Work closely with the development team to ensure that products are planned, documented, developed, tested, and deployed according to plans. 15%

  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  Minimum

  • Demonstrated past success with identifying and researching customer needs, developing marketing and business requirements, and working with a development team to ensure that each product is planned, created, tested, and deployed.
    
  • Experience with global media, other non-branded media, software, and technology.
    
  • Attention to detail, exceptional analytical skills, ability to handle complicated tasks, sound judgment, excellent written and verbal communication, and a high degree of creativity are required.
    
  • The candidate must be a self starter who can work with minimal supervision and produce impressive results.
    
  • The candidate must posses excellent problem solving and interpersonal communications skills, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
    

  Preferred

  • Passion for online video entertainment.
    
  • Familiarity with Web 2.0, viral video distribution, user generated video blogging and the technologies to enable video on the web.
    

  Education, Certification, and/or Training
  

  • Minimum - Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
    
  • Preferred - MBA
    

  Experience

  • Minimum - 7 years of total work experience, 4 years of experience in product management
    
  • Preferred - Software and media industry experience Past experience at Adobe, Microsoft, or Apple working on video delivery technologies.
