CSS, Scripting, DHTML, and XML Primer

Document Actions

These days, technical communicators must often deal with many new,
unfamiliar, and often confusing technologies to get their jobs done. Sound
knowledge of Cascading Style Sheets, JavaScript, Dynamic HTML, and XML can not only boost your job satisfaction, but can make you a more valuable team member.

This half-day workshop introduces those technologies, and explores their
roles in technical communication. Packed with plenty of lively
lecture material interspersed with hands-on computer exercises, this workshop will
give you the basic knowledge you need to hit the ground running in the world
of Web-based content.
You will learn:

  • How browsers allow you to go beyond plain HTML
  • What JavaScript is and how to use it in your pages
  • The elegance and power of Cascading Style Sheets
  • How HTML, JavaScript, and CSS combine to make DHTML
  • The fundamentals of XML, and the power of XSLT

** There is a limited, fixed number of seats for this event. **

Each attendee will have their own computer workstation. You are welcome to take home all the example code to use as reference material for your own projects.
