Many technical communicators want to gather user feedback on their information designs by means of a usability test, but may not feel confident in designing a study. This brief introduction will show you how to convert your usability concerns into a solid test design. The course will include a tour of the award-winning UWTC Laboratory for Usability Testing and Evaluation (LUTE).

  • How you can use selected usability-test tools and techniques to help you answer your questions

Judy Ramey, professor and chair, Dept. of Technical Communication, and founder and director of the award-winning UWTC Laboratory for Usability Testing and Evaluation (LUTE); and Elisabeth Cuddihy, TC doctoral student and assistant director of LUTE. Judy will lead the classroom components and Elisabeth will lead the lab component.
